Public Health Technology Department
The Public Health Department of the Federal College of Veterinary and Medical Laboratory Technology Vom, was established in 2021 under the interim accreditation of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE). Since its inception, the department has demonstrated significant growthand impact in the field of public health.
Educational Achievements:
In 2023, the department proudly graduated a total of 69 students, marking a milestone in its commitment to producing skilled professionals in the field. Currently, the department hosts a total of 146 students, with 69 students enrolled in ND2 and 77 students in ND1, reflecting a vibrant academic community
Accreditation and Management
The Public Health Department has received accreditation from the Environmental Health Council of Nigeria, and an Interim accreditation with NBTE, affirming its adherence to rigorous standards and quality education. Under the direct management of the college, the department operates under the guidance of a dedicated Head of Department, ensuring efficient administration and academic excellence
Curriculum
The department boasts a team of competent lecturers who are experts in their respective fields, providing students with high-quality education and mentorship. Certification and Licensure
Students undergo rigorous training and examinations, including the National Council exam, to obtain certification and licensure from the Environmental Health Council of Nigeria to practice as Public Health Technologist. Graduates are equipped with the necessary skills and qualifications to practice as Public Health Technologists, contributing to the Promotion of health, prevention of Disease, and Protection of lives.
